Outsourcing Needs Assessment

So, here you are.  You’ve decided that you need some type of assistance to run your business efficiently and to grow it to the next level.  But where do you begin?  How do you plan a strategy around the general idea of getting help?

One way to start is to take a close look at the tasks you are performing.  The activities involved in operating a business generally fall into two categories: those that translate directly into an increase in sales or profits — revenue generation — and those that, while necessary for efficient operations, do not overtly contribute to the bottom line — “back office” support.

Revenue generation is definitely your arena as the business owner.  Providing the services or developing the ideas for products is your area of expertise and the main focus of your business.

However, the “back office” support is another story altogether.  Just because you may like, or enjoy, or even be very good at performing a particular task, if it’s not part of your core business, you shouldn’t be doing it!

While it may take you some time to complete, this assessment will help you identify tasks that could be outsourced.  Some may be a definite “yes!”  I can delegate that.  Some might be a “maybe” or “absolutely not.”  As the owner, only you can decide what is best for your business.
